2nd Generation Wireless Safety Edge System

2nd generation multi frequency wireless safety edge system, there are four user selectable channels in the frequency range 868.700 - 870 MHz and a 433MHz security channel that guarantees communication should there be a communication failure on the selected channel.

A new transmitter Part No. BAND-O can be used with the following types of safety edges, low power optical (3V / 3mA) ie Fraba and WITT, 8K2 resistive and normally closed contacts.

An innovative wireless radio communication system for use with safety edges, it offers a two-way radio link with self-test between transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is connected to the safety edge and the receiver to the door or gate control panel safety input.
The transmitter and receiver are in fact transceivers and constantly communicating with each other, should any part of the system fail, the receiver will activate the safety input of the control panel preventing the gate from operating, the system is therefore fail safe

Applications include wireless safety edge on sliding gates, industrial doors, barriers, roller shutters and garage doors

Facilitates compliance with the European door normative EN 12453 and EN 12445 and EN ISO 13849-1

RECEIVER - Part No. BAND-UM

  • Power supply 9-35V DC, 8-28V AC
  • Multifrequency operation, four user selectable channels in the frequency range 868.700 - 870 MHz and a 433MHz security channel
  • Operating range 10 metres minimum
  • The receiver has two channels, the outputs connect to the opening and closing safety inputs on the control panel, the output can be configured as 8K2 resistive or normally closed (N.C)
  • Up to six transmitters can be used, 3 on each channel, more than one safety edge can be connected to a transmitter
  • There are 2 x autotest signal inputs (one for each channel) for connection to the autotest output of the control panel, the autotest signal can be positive (0 to 12/24V) or negative (12/24V to 0V). The autotest signal is sent from the control panel and activates the output of the receiver, when the control panel receives this output it allows the door or gate to start moving
  • System check facility and signal strength indicator
  • Low battery warning indicator, provides an audible signal at the receiver weeks before a transmitter battery needs replacing
  • Integral antenna with external antenna connections
  • Operating temperature -40ºC to +85ºC

TRANSMITTER - Part No. BAND-B

  • Power supply 3V DC (2 x 1.5V LR6 AA batteries), 2 year battery life, audiable transmitter low battery warning at receiver
  • Operating range 10 metres minimum
  • Can be used with 8K2 resistive and normally closed (N.C) safety edges, please note the use of N.C safety edges does NOT comply with the European door normative EN 12453
  • An auxiliary normally open (N.O) input can be used with picket and pedestrian doors. when used it will operate relay 2 on the receiver, this can be connected to the stop input of the control panel
  • The transmitter and receiver are in fact transceivers and constantly communicating with each other, should any part of the system fail, the controller will prevent the door operating, the system is therefore fail safe
  • Operating temperature -20ºC to +85ºC
  • Dimensions 151 x 60 x 23 mm
  • Protection IP65

TRANSMITTER - Part No. BAND-O

  • Power supply 3V DC (2 x 1.5V LR6 AA batteries), 2 year battery life, audiable transmitter low battery warning at receiver
  • Operating range 10 metres minimum
  • Can be used with the following safety edges, low power optical (3V / 3mA) ie Fraba and WITT, 8K2 resistive and normally closed (N.C) please note the use of N.C safety edges does NOT comply with the European door normative EN 12453
  • When used with an optical safety edge power for the optical system is suppled by the safety edge transmitter, the optical safety edge remains in standyby mode untill it receives an activation signal from the receiver, the activation signal is sent during the auto-test and enables the optical safety edge for 60 seconds
  • The transmitter and receiver are in fact transceivers and constantly communicating with each other, should any part of the system fail, the controller will prevent the door operating, the system is therefore fail safe
  • Operating temperature -20ºC to +85ºC
