Through Beam Photoelectric Safety Beams

We offer a range of photoelectric safety sensors to suit most types of installations. There are basically two types of sensor:
Retroreflective where the light beam transmitter and receiver are in the same unit, the beam is transmitted to a reflector where it is reflected back to receiver, the benefits of the retroreflective type are reduced cabling costs as only one side of the door or gate needs to be wired.
The other type is the through beam where the light beam transmitter and receiver are separate units and need to be placed each side of the door or gate, the through beam type are generally cheaper, have a longer range and are quicker to align, however both sides of the door or gate need to be wired.

The optical system of both the transmitter and receiver can be rotated up to 180° which allows side aiming. Therefore the units do not have to be mounted face-to-face and the beam direction cannot be discerned by simple observation.

Same specification as the the PC180 photocells shown above but with benefit of a battery powered transmitter, the transmitter also has a N.C contact input for connection of a safety edge, the receiver responds as though the infra red beam has been broken when the safety edge is activated. Ideal for use on sliding gates and installations where it is difficult to run a cable to the transmitter
